5 interior trends for 2024

Decoding the most important interior trends that will make it into your home space.

  1. Bouclé

Bouclé is here to stay. This thick, heavy fabric goes in line with the trend for warm, Scandi-inspired interiors. It rose to fame when an American architect Florence Knoll asked Eero Saarinen to help her design a chair that’d be like a basket “full of pillows”. So, in 1946, they created a Womb Chair upholstered in Knoll’s signature bouclé. It works perfectly with organic, curved shapes and makes a great addition to raw, sober spaces.

2. Butter Yellow

American Vogue has written about the shade in the context of fashion week trends back in 2022. Now this mellow, creamy shade enters our homes and blends perfectly with modern furnishings. Not only in the form of accessories but also as fully-fledged interior themes - think buttery walls or wooden kitchen cabinets.

3. All About Curves

Amorphous, fluid shapes of furniture work most beautifully within geometrical spaces with horizontal and vertical lines. They are also comfier and more ergonomic. Speaking to Net-a-Porter, a prominent interior designer Kelly Wearstler said: “The soft silhouette of a curved design is pleasing to the eye, as it presents a cozy character, whilst adding a layer of playfulness to a space”. We couldn’t agree more.

4. Spa-Like Bathrooms

The idea of a home spa has just become reachable. And you don’t have to live in a loft to make this interior dream come true. Contemporary spa-like bathrooms feature natural stone surfaces, wooden veneers, and monochromatic color schemes. Insets of brass gold can also be added for a more elevated, luxurious feel.

5. Asymmetrical Rugs

Rugs as artworks. Graphic forms meet soft, watercolor-like textures. These irregularly shaped statement pieces can be the focal point of the room, accessorized with minimal furniture and décor elements in corresponding hues.
